How to prepare for your tattoo session?
Proper preparation is key to your comfort, better healing, and the best possible final result. Always inform your tattoo artist about any concerns, your current health condition, medications you are taking, or any steroid or hormone therapies. Your overall health and skin condition play a crucial role in the tattooing process and directly affect how your tattoo heals.
Before your session
- Get a good night’s sleep – your body needs to be well rested
- Stay hydrated – drink plenty of water even 10-14 days before your session
- Avoid alcohol – at least 24-48 hours before your appointment
- Do not use any intoxicating substances
- Avoid sunbathing and tanning beds – irritated skin is not suitable for tattooing
- Keep the area moisturized (use lotion, not heavy creams)
- Do not shave or wax the area yourself
On the day of your session
- Eat a proper meal – low blood sugar can increase discomfort
- Wear comfortable clothing – ensure easy access to the tattoo area
- Bring drinks and snacks (especially for longer sessions)
- Maintain good hygiene – arrive clean and freshly washed
