The price of a single tattoo depends on many factors.
The main ones include:
- size,
- style of execution,
- working time.
For example, a 10×10 cm rose will be priced differently if it’s done as a simple outline compared to an outline with shading. Clients often send reference photos of exceptionally well-done tattoos without realizing how much work goes into achieving that effect. Every single detail must be perfected to ensure everything looks exactly as the client dreamed.
Color matters
Tattoo color is also a key factor. Colored inks are more expensive, and working with them is more time-consuming. The price of the exact same design will vary depending on whether you choose color or black-and-grey. This is due to both the cost of materials and the time required to complete the tattoo.
How do we price our work?
At our Kings of Ink studio, the starting price for a tattoo is 250 PLN. Even if the design is just a tiny dot — size doesn’t matter here. The starting price is mainly influenced by single-use disposable materials, such as needles. As the name suggests, they can only be used once, so it doesn’t matter whether we work with them for a minute or half an hour. The price also includes setting up the workstation and other consumables, like barrier films, gloves, disposable sheets, and disinfectants. Therefore, if you want to get small tattoos, it’s highly worth getting a few of them done at the same time.
Nothing happens without a design
It is hard to price a tattoo without a design. Some even say that the design is 50% of the success. That is why the final price includes the cost of an custom design — preparing it according to the client’s vision often takes several or even a dozen hours of work. This is also the reason why tattoo artists do not share their designs beforehand, for example by sending them to a client. Unfortunately, there are unpleasant situations where their hard work is stolen and used in another studio.

Why are tattoos so expensive?
We often hear questions from clients about why they have to pay so much for a tattoo.
It is worth asking yourself: how much would a pair of shoes have to cost if you were going to wear them for the rest of your life? Let’s face it, on average, we spend 200–300 PLN on a new pair of shoes once a year.
A well-crafted tattoo lasts a lifetime! Additional costs, such as the right concept and composition, are also part of the total price. If we want to proudly show off a tattoo for the rest of our lives, it is definitely worth investing in it properly.
